OverviewMiddleburg, the nation's horse and hunt capital, is the home of many horses and equestrians. The horse theme carries through its retail establishments with names such as Cuppa Giddyup, a local coffee shop. Middleburg offers unique shopping including tack stores, art galleries, and antique and specialty shops. The Red Fox Inn, a popular inn and a restaurant, is one of the region's oldest. Many celebrities have chosen Middleburg as their home because of its charm, and celebrity sightings are not uncommon. Middleburg is located along Route 50, John Mosby Highway, named after the Confederate Colonel who used Middleburg as a base camp during the Civil War. A self-guided walking tour booklet of the town is available at the LCVA Visitors Center in Leesburg and at the Pink Box Visitors Center in Middleburg.
