Loudoun’s rich history is venerated in several one-of-a-kind museums and cultural attractions. Must-see stops include the Loudoun Museum in Leesburg featuring rotating exhibits on everything from Loudoun during the Civil War to the origins of the Virginia wine industry; the National Sporting Library & Museum in Middleburg, the nation’s leading resource on equestrian and outdoor pursuits and the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum in Sterling that tells the story of Loudoun’s agricultural roots. Other sites include George C. Marshall’s Dodona Manor, the Leesburg home-turned museum of Statesman-General George C. Marshall who oversaw the Marshall Plan that rebuilt Europe after World War II.
