Getting Here & Around

Twenty-five miles from Washington, DC, Loudoun is an easy drive from the nation’s capital and not far from Baltimore. Dulles International Airport is located in the southeast corner of the county and brings in national and international  travelers from all over the world.

Three Metrorail Silver Line stations service Loudoun, connecting the county by public rail to Washington, DC. The stations are at Dulles International Airport, Loudoun Gateway and Ashburn Station and the typical travel time from Ashburn, the western-most stop, to the center of DC is 90 minutes.

There are multiple taxi services in the county, including special services to and from Dulles, while Uber and Lyft are ubiquitous in eastern Loudoun and also operate in towns in the south and west such as Middleburg and Purcellville. Rideshares in the more rural parts of the county are less reliable.

Several companies offer guided tours of Loudoun. Book customized excursions to our wineries and breweries or enjoy either guided or self-guided walking tours of our towns and villages.

Of course, when visiting wineries or breweries, please call ahead or check social media to confirm hours of operation and policies related to picnics, pets, children, large groups and events.
