Farmland until the early 1980s, Ashburn is now a major hi-tech, commercial, residential and nightlife hub. Ashburn is home to chic lifestyle, dining and entertainment destinations such as One Loudoun; sports complexes TopGolf and Ashburn Ice House; and the sprawling tech servers of Data Center Alley. There’s a thriving craft beer scene, many superb ethnic and family-run local restaurants, and a hopping late-night bar scene.

Must Do:

Sports & Entertainment

Ashburn Ice House is Loudoun’s original ice rink; TopGolf on Route 7 lets you practice your swing – while drinking cocktails; at nearby iFly Loudounfly without a parachute in this indoor wind tunnel that simulates skydiving. The scenic W&OD Trail dissects the southern part of Ashburn.

Dine Around

Where to begin? From the modish wine and small plates eatery AhSo, to food from the sleepless streets of Thailand at Sense of Thai St and Indian classics at Rupa Vira’s The Signature, some of the finest restaurants in Virginia are here in Ashburn.

Beer Crawl

Loudoun’s first brewery, Old Dominion Brewing Company, opened in Ashburn in 1989 and while it’s no longer around, it helped inspire the county’s craft ale revolution. Multiple Ashburn breweries keep the flag flying, notably Old Ox Brewery, the innovative Lost Rhino Brewing Company and House 6 Brewing Company founded by a local firefighter.
