Whether you are looking for a fun Fall activity with family and friends or seeking the perfect gourd to complete your seasonal décor, Loudoun’s family farms have you covered. Here are just a handful of places to find the perfect pumpkin this season.

Temple Hall Farm Pumpkin Patch & Sunflower Fields

Prepare for Halloween at Temple Hall Farms' pumpkin patch from late September to early November. Bring the whole family to ride wagons through the 286-acre farm and pick out the best gourd you can find. While here you can also get fresh sunflowers for your holiday table. A portion of sunflower sales goes to the apprenticeship program for neurodivergent individuals at the Legacy Farms non-profit based on site.

Wegmeyer Farms

Wegmeyer Farms offer pick-your-own strawberries at four Loudoun locations but come pumpkin season, visit their Hamilton operation. Open in the Fall after the strawberries are done, they grow over 50 varieties which are then hand clipped in the field after you pick them out. Wegmeyer produce has been featured on Chef Emeril’s cooking show.

Great Country Farms

Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch at family-owned Great Country Farms to find the pumpkin of your dreams. Kids can spend the day exploring the corn maze, enjoying some of their famous cider donuts and visiting the petting zoo, while mom and dad should visit sister business Henway Hard Cider which is on site. Bluemont Vineyard and Dirt Farm Brewing, part of the same family agribusiness empire, are in the hills on the other side of the road.

Crooked Run Orchard

Located on the outskirts of Purcellville, this small farm, in the Brown family for 250 years, is a quaint rural escape for visitors. The family take pride in their farming practices, the fruit and vegetables grown with mineral fertilizer for for the freshest, heathiest produce. Pumpkin season runs from September to October, with several different varieties on offer.
