As the 57th Annual Super Bowl weekend approaches, the stakes are getting high. We’re giving you all the essentials to make the best of the most anticipated event of the year. From pre-gaming adventures to bar hopping to hosting your own party, here are a few ways to celebrate all within Loudoun.

Pregame

Get your adrenaline going before the big game. Hike one of the many trails in Loudoun then use the LoCo Ale Trail guide to select one of Loudoun’s 30+  breweries for a pre-game beverage. Family-friendly entertainment venue, The Zone in Ashburn embraces the competitive spirit from bowling to arcade to laser tag- a perfect place to get the family excited for the evening competition. While in Ashburn, you can also check out the competitive gaming lounge The Outer Limits. If you’re a fan of either team battling to be Super Bowl champs, let out pre-game jitters at Elysium Axe Bar  in Purcellville where you can enjoy axe throwing followed by cocktails.

Host A Party

Hosting your own Super Bowl party can get intense as you strive to make sure there is enough food and drink for everyone. Well, we have that covered too! Pick up a seafood party box at one of Ford’s Fish Shack’s three locations and fill tummies with delicious lobster rolls and clam chowder. Order a craft wing platter from Buffalo Wing Factory in Sterling and drown your wings in specialty, hand-crafted sauces from intense spice, to sweet and smokey. Compliment your wings with a large, wood-fired pizza from Fire Works Pizza in Leesburg – we recommend you try the in-house signature pizza, Quattro Carni, topped with four different types of meat. After getting your main course covered, The Branch in downtown Leesburg has a gourmet appetizer menu, from soft pretzels paired with special beer cheese sauce to calamari and coconut shrimp. Sugary goods are an essential to any occasion, so travel south to Aldie and stop by Little Apple Pastry Shop for some homemade baked goods. Fill up your dessert table with assorted  cookies, brownies and lemon bars.

Quench Your Thirst

Nothing says game day like cracking open a cold one, so be sure to stop at a Loudoun brewery to get a case of craft beer. Tucked away on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains is Notaviva Farm Brewery and Winery where the owners combine the art of music with beer and wine. Take home a case of "Old Steeleye" Nut Brown Ale. Follow along on Route 690 to Adroit Theory Brewing Company – this intimate brewery crafts new beers every week; try a case of the newest Pilsner- Czech release “Immersion”- taste of subtle honey biscuit interlaced with a modest bitterness and a crisp finish.  Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn has a very hefty draft menu, the seasonal Irish-style stout creates the perfect fall feel with its roast base and subtle dark chocolate bitterness, sure to keep you warm during the match up. Stray away from the heaviness of beer by stopping by Corcoran Vineyards & Cider in the historic village of Waterford. Corcoran provides gluten-free hard cider options - try the sweet “Knot Head” cider made from Virginia apples with just a hint of whiskey-barrel vanilla. While there, you can also pick up a bottle of vino for your wine-loving friends.
