Looking for ideas this Mother’s Day? Well, you’re in luck because there are countless ways to show mom love right here in Loudoun! You don’t have to limit yourself, here are some of the best ways to celebrate the mom in your life!

Preparing for Mom’s Big Day

You don’t have to wait until Sunday to celebrate. On Saturday, May 9, Salamander Middleburg hosts Mother’s Day Yoga & Tea, a perfect way to start the weekend. After that, treat Mom to the lavish High Tea with the Highlands: A Bridgerton-inspired Tea Party at Scarlet Springs Farm in Waterford. The two-hour experience includes meeting the farm’s cute woolly-haired highland cows (named for characters in the Bridgerton TV series) before settling into a tea of sandwiches, scones and buttermilk biscuits overlooking the fields. That evening, if she’s a fan of dinner theater (who isn’t?), get tickets to Stagecoach Theatre’s fun, interactive Hopelessly Devoted to Murder production at Casanel Vineyards.

Cozy Café Morning

Give your mom some alone time at a cozy local café. In downtown Leesburg, Catty Corner Café is a cute spot for cat lovers to enjoy a latte while hanging out with furry friends. Over at women-owned Cowbell Kitchen, enjoy home-baked pastries and rich, fresh coffee in a sunlit courtyard. Popular Doppio Bunny Coffee in Purcellville has art-lined walls, a thrift store and soft leather couches to lounge on while sipping superb espresso drinks. Back Street Brews Coffee & Tea House, located in a cozy log cabin building on a quiet Lovettsville side street, does superb local Lone Oak Coffee and has a lovely garden to the side.

Mother's Day Feasts

It's not really Mother's Day without a celebratory brunch or lunch. Scenic Bungalow Lakehouse in Sterling has a robust Mother's Day menu that features an all-American omelet station, while Shutters on King in Leesburg will have its raw bar in full swing. Oysters and a spicy Bloody Mary, mom? For something in the serene countryside, book a table for Sunday brunch at Goodstone Inn where dishes run the gamut from decadent French Toast with fruit and whipped cream to the Goodstone Farm Beet Salad, featuring beets grown on property. After brunch, take a stroll through the grounds, stunning valley and mountain views all around.

Mom and Sips

Check out one of Loudoun's 50 wineries and tasting rooms where mom can enjoy great wine and spectacular views. Bluemont Vineyard hosts a Mother's Day Brunch buffet at its barn venue, The Stable, where Mom can craft her own "Mom-osa" from a spread of juices, fruit and Bluemont bubbles before enjoying a selection of eggs, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, quiche, tea sandwiches, yogurt and pastries. Lots of estate wine, too. In Waterford meanwhile, Hope Flower Farm & Winery hosts Mother's Day Weekend from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bring the whole family to enjoy spring blooms and bouquets in the fields and live music and wine in the tasting room. If you haven't bought mom something special yet, the farm shop sells beautifully curated gifts and farm-fresh flowers.
