Preparing for Mom’s Big Day

You don’t have to wait until the weekend to start the celebration, there is plenty to do to get ready for the big day. On May 9, the Middleburg Community Center will have a special two-hour flower arrangement workshop. Tickets include the flower arrangement, cheese and wine. Seats are limited so don’t wait to book! Spark mom’s nostalgia and take her to a musical performance by one of Loudoun’s many cover bands. Mostly Fab, a Beatles tribute band, will perform on May 10 at The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards in Hamilton. After live music and drinks, let her rest nearby at Blue Hill Farm B&B. The 5-star Salamander Middleburg or beautiful Lansdowne Resort, which serves as a gateway to wine country, are also great places to unwind for the holiday weekend.

 

 

Mother’s Day

In downtown Leesburg, Catty Corner Café is a cozy cafe where fellow cat lovers can enjoy an espresso while hanging out with furry friends. Join Catty Corner for a special Mother’s Day morning yoga and tea starting at 10 a.m. - of course the cats will be there! After your yoga session, indulge at one of the close by sweet shops like Mocatinas and Cowbell Kitchen.

 

Mom’s Day Feast

It’s not actually a complete “Mother's Day” occurrence without a slew of culinary happenings be it brunch or dinner, filling mom’s heart and tummy. The good news is you don’t have to choose from one type of culinary experience when you celebrate in Loudoun. Choose a picture worth a thousand words and turn it into a night light; while it prints, bond over a glass of wine and live music. Every third Thursday October One Vineyards hosts trivia nights for people to enjoy a playful evening with wine at the downtown Leesburg tasting room. Test mom's trivia skills while sipping a glass of their award-winning Albariño, perfect setting for bonding.
