Horse Country

Home to more than 15,000 horses, Loudoun is an equestrian paradise, with multiple horse shows, point-to-point races, polo tournaments, fox hunts and other equine events that take place throughout the year. Middleburg, dubbed America’s Horse and Hunt Country Capital, boasts the National Sporting Library & Museum (the nation’s leading resource on equestrian pursuits), as well as the annual Middleburg Spring and Fall races. Horses and hounds are front and center at the storied Middleburg Christmas Parade. At Dark Spring Stables in Purcellville, guests can take guided rides to nearby wineries and breweries on horseback, while historic Morven Park with its miles of wooded riding trails is home to the Museum of Hounds & Hunting and the glamorous Polo in the Park, a glitzy series of Saturday evening polo matches in June and July. Welcome to Loudoun’s horse country.
