Holiday & Seasonal

Loudoun is a year-round destination with four distinct seasons, each with a unique atmosphere and appeal.

Spring brings green hills, blooming flowers and bustling towns - a time for locals and visitors to enjoy farm tours, flower and garden festivals and outdoor exercise in our scenic parks and trails. Celebrate Easter with high tea at an historic home or an egg hunt in a public garden.

Summer is all steamy days and music-filled nights: outdoor concerts, kayaking the Potomac River, swimming in our water parks and cooling down with iced coffee and artisanal ice cream. Several towns host Memorial Day and and July 4th parades, and come evening on July 4th, the night sky is ablaze with fireworks.

Fall is glorious: misty mornings, cool nights, the leaves turned a vibrant red, yellow and gold. It’s the season of harvest flavors and festival vibes: wine tastings, pumpkin and apple picking, leaf peeping, hiking, hay bale tractor rides and Halloween parades. Cater your Thanksgiving dinner table with local beer, wine and produce, or book a traditional turkey dinner at one of our classic family restaurants.

And so to the cool of winter, perfect for cozy festive dinners, red wine and whiskey tastings. The Lighting of the Vines at Bluemont Vineyard sees the slopes of the Blue Ridge illuminated in a golden glow, while the famous Christmas in Middleburg tradition on the first weekend of December features a tree lighting, parades through town and shop windows festooned with Christmas themes. As for county seat Leesburg, a giant tree lights up the Town Square and the streets twinkle with lights.

Come celebrate seasons - and holidays - in Loudoun.
