With farm fresh peaches picked straight from the tree and mouthwatering oysters served chilled or grilled, this weekend in Loudoun is sure to be a food lover’s paradise! Check out the highlights below and don’t forget to share your weekend happenings with us using #LoveLoudoun!

Just Shuck It!

From the seaside to the upper bay, Virginia is known as the oyster capital of the East Coast. With eight different regions to harvest from, there is plenty of flavor variety within the state to enjoy whether it’s baked, fried or served raw straight from the shell! Celebrate National Oyster Day this Sunday with delicious options in Loudoun! Stop by Copperwood Tavern for one dollar oysters all day long! Enjoy fresh Waverly Point oysters chilled or grilled during brunch or dinner.

Continue the celebration at one of the King Street Oyster Bar locations in downtown Leesburg or Middleburg. For every oyster sold, King Street Oyster Bar will donate to support the planting of water-filtering baby oysters into the Chesapeake Bay through the Oyster Recovery Partnership. Enjoying tasty fresh oysters and giving back to bay sounds like a winning combination for National Oyster Day!

Great Country Farms Peaches

Getting Peachy With It

Nothing says summer more than the sweet smell of ripe juicy peaches! This weekend, you can celebrate peach season at Bluemont Vineyard, Great Country Farms and Dirt Farm Brewing! Start off your trip by seeing where the peaches come from. To get an experience directly from the source, you can even pick your own peaches off the trees at Great Country Farms! From 9-11am, you can enjoy a peach pancake breakfast with family fun games starting at 1pm.

Next stop is Bluemont Vineyard! Try a glass of the peach wine or enjoy a refreshing peach wine slushy - perfect for a hot summer day. Relax on the porch and listen to live music both Saturday and Sunday. If visiting on Sunday, don’t miss the brunch options from 11-2pm.

To complete your Peach Fuzztival experience, try Som’ Peach Ale on tap at Dirt Farm Brewing! Hundreds of pounds of fresh peaches give this golden summer ale a farm-fresh flavor and aroma. Fresh peaches, pancakes, pie, wine or beer – however you like your peaches – it’s covered at the 4th Annual Peach Fuzztival!
