Time to make your weekend plans, and Loudoun’s the place to be for all those looking to eat, drink and be merry. Keep reading for ways to keep the summer fun going strong!

Cheers to the Weekend

Kick off your weekend with a tail-waggin’ good time at Old Ox Brewery, which will be unleashing a new brew, “Hoppier Place: Seeing Double.”  Pups are welcome to pal around on the patio, because everyone knows that dog-friendly events are double the fun! Water bowls will be provided at this free event but if pints are more your thing, you can purchase a limited-edition silicone pint glass to benefit Heeling House, which works to improve the lives of children through animal assisted interactions. So, bring along your favorite four-legged good boy because Pups & Pints is going to be totally “pawsome.”

So, you think you know your wines? Put your taste buds to the test and take “flight” this Friday with a trip around the globe! Join winemaker Nate Walsh for a Blind Wine Tasting at North Gate Vineyard, comparing premium Chardonnays and Bordeaux-style blends ranging in origin from Burgundy, France to right here in Virginia. Gather together your vino gang to see who’s got the perfect palate and whose nose really knows!

Foodies Unite

You’re the master of marinades. You’re a grilling god. But, are you ready for rotisserie? Now’s your chance to work with a true pig pro – Salamander Resort & Spa’s Executive Chef, Ryan Arensdorf! Ryan and his team will teach you the ropes on prepping and executing a spit-style hog at their “Piggy on a Spit” Cooking Class. Reward your hard work with some of that perfect BBQ and, of course, local brews!

We all know that fresh is best, right? Ditch the store for a pitchfork and find buried treasure during Great Country Farms’ Big Dig Potato Harvest! Treat yourself to the tastiest ‘taters you’ve ever tried – taken straight from the source! After a fun morning of harvesting fueled by an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, indulge in the Roosteraunt’s special Truffled Potato Flatbread while jamming out to live music. Can you dig it?

Get Social

Why hit the club when you can get down on the barn dance floor?! Donate your dancing skills this Saturday night to swing your partner round and round at the Loudoun Barnstormers August Barn Dance! “Yeehaw” for a good cause, as ticket sales will benefit the Hillsboro Old Stone School Preservation Trust and the Loudoun Barnstormers. Instruction will be provided, so both dancing queens and those new to the barn-dancing scene are welcome! Dance it out, LoCo.

And as the weekend comes to a close, go out swinging at the Banbury Cross Polo Club's 3rd Annual Piper Cup! Even if you’ve never been, we guarantee that your Sunday will be a fun day at this 12-goal polo match. With horse-drawn carriages and a half-time “divot stomp,” spectators will enjoy all the best world-class equestrian activities. Plus, there will be a champagne pour and a DJ – so, really, how could you say “neigh”? Do yourself a favor and “Marco” your calendars now for some polo.
