While I'm sitting at my desk on this beautiful Summer day in Loudoun, all I can think about is getting out into the sunshine and enjoying it (with a lot of sunscreen, of course). While my idea of golfing is watching Happy Gilmore or driving the golf cart with a LoCo Ale Trail brew in hand, but the real golf aficionados of the world will be happy to learn that Loudoun is filled with amazing championship courses for you to enjoy! Here are just a handful of golf courses in Loudoun:
World-renowned designers Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Greg Normal created three distinctly different courses for golfers of all playing abilities at the The Golf Club at Lansdowne Resort & Spa. Both courses deliver memorable rounds with every outing, showcasing a master designer's touch within the Loudoun countryside. Whether your are staying as a guest or just hanging out in Loudoun, make sure to stop in for 45-holes of championship golf.
1757 Golf Club’s par-70, 6,600-yard layout is a shot-maker’s dream. Routed through gently rolling terrain with elevation changes up to 30 feet, 1757 features dramatic views of Broad Run and the majestic Loudoun landscape, along with strategically placed bunkers, streams and lakes. After a round of golf, grab your friends and head to the restaurant for a great meal!
Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club was built in 1996 by Gary Player Design, a firm headed by one of the golfing world’s greatest players and has earned awards such as Top 10 Courses in Virginia, Best Public Course, Top 10 Courses in the Mid-Atlantic and more! The beautiful course stands on what was once a raspberry farm and where fox hunts took place in Loudoun. Book your tee-time to see for yourself!
Stoneleigh Golf & Country Club
Nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Snickersville Gap, Stoneleigh Golf & Country Club offers guests a unique golf club experience and a blend of history with touches of pre-Civil War character throughout the course, including an 18th-century manor house, a historic bank barn, an old toll road, and the Founder’s Cottage. The golf course was created by Golf Architect Hall of Fame inductee Lisa Maki.
