Here in Loudoun County you can get active -- without succumbing to a sunburn -- at some seriously amazing Northern Virginia recreation centers. From an indoor basketball complex and Olympic-size swimming pools, lazy rivers and water playgrounds to rock climbing walls, skateboarding parks and a 79,000-square-foot sportsplex, there’s all kind of indoor fun to be had.
If the kids need to burn off a little energy, there’s Sports Bounce. The 10,000+ square foot facility is filled top to bottom with a whole host of huge inflatables. Let the little ones jump the day away. Your only major decision will be whether to have your iced coffee with sugar or without at the on-site Jumpin’ Java coffee bar.
For bigger “kids” with a need for speed, there’s Allsports. You’re in with nothing more than a valid driver’s license – and even the youngsters can participate if they attend the two-day kids racing school. Their race track is fast, fun, and seriously exciting for all ages. Plus, they’re celebrating their 13th anniversary, so they’re reducing prices for all of August to commemorate the occasion. Happy Birthday to you!
If the idea of scaling a mountain is up your alley – Sport Rock is your kind of spot. It’s a must-visit for rock climbing enthusiasts, and its modern layout includes a lead cave with 30-foot overhangs, a bouldering stalactite, and dedicated areas for instruction and parties. Novice, expert, or in-between, you’re bound to find a climb suited to you – no mountain required.
