Cana Vineyards and Winery of Middleburg
Cana’s winemaker is on a mission to share the magic of Rosé with everyone, and they’ve already made us true believers ✨So, grab your buddies and head to the Budbreak Festival at Cana during the Taste of Rosé Weekend! Celebrate spring, the new vintage and, most importantly, the 2018 Rosé of Merlot release. The 100% Merlot grapes for this bottle were grown, picked, processed and vinified to showcase the beauty of an intentional Rosé. Try Cana’s special “Rosé around the World” tasting to see for yourself how well this delicious Loudoun Rosé stands up to its international counterparts!
868 Estate Vineyards
If you’re feeling parched for a pink drink, quench your thirst with 868’s 2018 Rosé, a beautiful blend of estate reds. Dry, and both elegant and complex, this Rosé will be your go-to for when you’re looking for something fresh and versatile. Plus, it pairs perfectly with small plates of olives, cheeses and ciabatta — which you can conveniently taste at Grandale Vintner’s Table restaurant, just next door!
Hillsborough Winery, Brewery & Vineyard
Ready for the trifecta? Hillsborough’s got a fantastic trio of Rosés waiting for you! Start off with the fruity, dry and refreshing Serefina, which is a non-traditional Rosé blend of 90% Petit Manseng and 10% Tannat that offers the best of both worlds, with tropical notes characteristic of white with the berry flavors from a red. The White Merlot is a darker Rosé wine with dryer, yet fruit-forward, earthy notes of cherry and berry. Save room for the Ruby’s Blush Rosé, a traditional Spanish-style Rosata that brings a very intense fruit-forward flavor almost like cotton candy! Bonus points: a 3-bottle collection of the White Merlot or Ruby’s Blush will feature different painted labels for all you label collectors out there!
Fabbioli Cellars
When a winery sells heart-shaped bottles of pink wine with iridescent edible glitter floating ethereally throughout, you know the Rosé couldn’t possibly be more fabulous. Fabbioli does just that with an exclusive selection of the cellar’s Rosé of Merlot. Visit Fabbioli to taste this 100% Merlot, produced right on the property. The Rosé is jam-packed with grapefruit, zesty lemons and a hint of strawberry on the nose with a balanced and well-rounded taste of citrus and jazz apples. With a distinct scent and a taste that goes down easy, it would be hard to have just one glass!
Bluemont Vineyard
Rosé is pink, violets are blue… and Bluemont has something special waiting for you! Head up the mountain for the vineyard’s 2017 Rosé “The Donkey” — a refreshing, off-dry Rosé made using grapes from Aldie, VA and a splash of Petit Manseng. Slowly fermented in stainless steel to retain maximum aromatics and freshness, fruit-forward notes of strawberry and cranberry intertwine with hints of lemongrass, mint and a delicate acidity for a perfect springtime (or summertime!) drink. Pair this Rosé with cheese plates, dried fruits and delicate Asian-inspired dishes — now, doesn’t that sound like the dream picnic?!
Willowcroft Farm Vineyards
Indulge in the delicious Rosé of Sharon blend at Willowcroft — one of the top sellers at Loudoun’s first winery! This dry Rosé is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, with a touch of Chambourcin. As if the Rosé wasn’t delicious enough on its own, Willowcroft is also serving Rosé sangria, which you can order with specially paired cheese plates, too! If that ain’t just a summertime wish come true.
Walsh Family Wine
From the first winery to the newest winery — if you haven’t had a chance to check out the recently-opened Walsh Family Wine tasting room, here’s the perfect reason: Rosé! For the Taste of Rosé weekend, the winery will have flights of 2 Rosés available, plus a discount on 3-packs (perfect to take home for an evening on the porch). DC’s Wine Country is already buzzing with good reviews of Walsh Family Wine (Rosé included!), and we’re pretty knowledgeable critics around here! Trust us, and treat yourself to some of this 100% VA wine.
