After a long, cold winter, spring has finally sprung in Loudoun! Trees and flowers are blossoming and the warm weather is settling in at last. This unfamiliar weather we’ve been longing for offers the perfect opportunity for a patio outing with friends, family or a loved one! Whether you’re sitting amongst the vines, at a picnic table or a cozy patio, Loudoun County has several special spots that will make your experience unforgettable!

For a unique twist on a patio, head to MacDowell’s Brew Kitchen in downtown Leesburg. Also known as “the beach”, the “Key West of Leesburg” or “Beermuda”, this is a perfect patio getaway making you feel like you are on vacation. Enjoy live music and grab drinks from one of the two outdoor bars!

Nestled in the heart of historic Middleburg, Red Horse Tavern offers an escape from city life and a great destination for day trippers. With colorful patio umbrellas and views of charming city streets, this is a local favorite serving affordable bites and drinks.

Located in western Loudoun and only a block away from the W&OD trail, Vino 9 Market offers a quaint Key West-style patio where customers can listen to local live music while sipping cold beverages and enjoying a variety of bites from the menu.

Indulge in delicious sandwiches, soups and desserts and grab some of the best ciabatta bread around to enjoy on the shaded outdoor terrace at South Street Under in downtown Leesburg. Don’t forget to bring your four-legged furry friend too; large water bowls are available!

For an indoor/outdoor dining experience, head to Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar in the Village at Leesburg where half of the bar opens to the spacious outdoor patio with garage-style doors. Delight in great bites and drinks in the comfortable setting and enjoy a cozy fire pit if the weather allows!

Note: This list focuses on restaurants, but many of Loudoun’s wineries and breweries offer great patios and terraces too!
