We knew we loved you.

We’ve always been well aware of the wonderful, welcoming, warm-hearted nature of the people attracted to Virginia — whether natives, transplants or visitors. But this summer, the way you all have so positively responded to our Summer of Love Tour has just proven everything we knew about you a hundredfold. Everywhere we’ve taken our Lindsay Volkswagen Tour Bus, we’ve been greeted with nothing but enthusiasm, gratitude and lots of love. Honestly, we’re getting a little emotional about it!

If you haven’t yet met us on tour, here’s a little #LoCoSummerOfLove background for you:

Earlier this summer, Visit Loudoun unveiled a vintage Volkswagen bus that has now made over 40 stops throughout Loudoun County as part of our “Summer of Love” campaign, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Virginia's slogan, "Virginia is for Lovers!" From flower crown workshops and classic movie nights to fashion icon tributes and farm days, Loudoun County has gone back in time for a summer-long campaign celebrating #50YearsOfLove in Virginia. Our Summer of Love tour has captured the cultural touchstones of 1969 while also highlighting the diversity of experiences in Loudoun and what people love about this County.

And, yeah — we rolled all around Loudoun in our rainbow bus and rocked our tie dye T-shirts while handing out groovy goodies. But truly, the heartbeat of this whole tour has been you.

You, our loving “tour groupies,” came out to celebrate #50YearsOfLove with us from near and far, bringing nothing but good vibes. Every smile you offered, affectionate story about Virginia you shared and compliment you gave to our campaign has been the driving force behind our little bus and made the whole experience so rewarding. From the bottom of our hearts, we couldn’t be more honored that our Summer of Love is now stitched into your happy memories of the summer of 2019. And although we’re going to miss “tour life,” we know the love will carry on!

That said, we cannot believe that the finale of our love-filled summer is this Saturday!

That’s right — you still have one last groovy chance to come along for the #LoCoSummerOfLove ride with Visit Loudoun: bring your crew to B Chord Brewing Co. on Saturday, August 17th, and swing to sweet tunes at our The Lindsay Volkswagen of Dulles Summer of Love Music Festival presented by iHeartRadio!

Keep your summer rocking on with Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root and his new band, Uprooted — alongside a stellar lineup of local musicians, singers, and songwriters including The Todd Wright Band, The Band - Changed and Hungry on Monday.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Loudoun Hunger Relief. Bring a non-perishable food item for Loudoun Hunger Relief's food pantry for a chance to win a Summer of Love prize pack.

While you sway to the music, sip on our Summer of Love beer by B Chord Brewing and Summer of Love wines by Tarara Winery. Food trucks, including Ford's Fish Shack, The Frenchman, Two Smooth Dudes, and JolliJava will also be on site serving up tasty festival fare! So, bring your lawn chairs, blankets and peace signs — and get ready for some feel-good fun. This festival, our final tour stop, is really one big celebration to thank you for all the 💜💜💜 and remind the world that Virginia is for Lovers!

Let’s turn the LOVE up loud, Loudoun!
