Here in Virginia we’re wrapping up winter by celebrating two things we could all use after this frigid season – food and wine. Throughout the month of March, Virginia wineries, restaurants, and retailers are participating in Love by the Glass: Virginia Wine and Dine Month by hosting special food and wine events, pairings, classes, and more. Thirty nine of Virginia’s 248 wineries are located right here in Loudoun, making this a perfect hub to satiate your appetite for Virginia food and wine.
Grandale Restaurant, one of Loudoun’s 14 Destination Restaurants, is celebrating by offering flights of wines from across Virginia throughout the month and their monthly Tasting Night will also focus on Virginia wines. Discover how wines change across vintages during Breaux Vineyards Merlot Vertical Tasting. Learn the secrets of wine blending as you help create the next Vintner’s Reserve during Doukenie Winery’s blending session with winemaker Sébastien Marquet. Or relax in the cozy barn setting of Willowcroft Farm Vineyards as you warm your belly with a bowl of soup and a glass of wine during their soup weekends.
Finally, if you’re looking for a full dining experience, several Loudoun restaurants are participating in Wine and Dine Month: Grandale Restaurant, Magnolias at the Mill, Salamander Resort’s Harriman’s Grill, Red Fox Inn & Tavern, The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, and Tuscarora Mill Restaurant. Each of these restaurants offer a unique setting, quality cuisine supporting local producers, and a good representation of Virginia’s finest wines.
