Town of Middleburg

Middleburg is the known as the capital of horse country. Elegant and stylish, Middleburg boasts historic architecture, tree-lined streets, charming shops, and refined sophistication.

The horse theme carries through Middleburg's retail and dining establishments with names such as the Coach Stop Restaurant and Cuppa Giddyup coffee shop. Middleburg offers a wide array of unique shopping including tack stores, art galleries, antique stores, and specialty shops. The Red Fox Inn, a popular inn and tavern-style restaurant built during Colonial times, is one of the region's oldest.

Along with the Red Fox Inn, check out the Coach Stop, which serves homemade comfort food, or stop by Market Salamander’s inviting café, and taste one of their gourmet sandwiches and other delicious treats.
Celebrity sightings in Middleburg are not uncommon.
Local residents Robert Duvall and Willard Scott are sometimes
spotted at the Safeway grocery store in the center of town. The town is also home to many Olympic equestrians as well as the home of many Fortune 500 CEOs and heirs. Past residents have included President John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, and Pamela Harriman. In spite of the wealth and celebrity that reside or have resided here, the town maintains a distinct charm and warmth.
