Restaurant at Patowmack Farm (The)
![]()
We spent Valentines evening at Patowmack Farm. The food was delicious, unique, imaginative, and organic. The service was attentive, warm, funny, knowledgeable, and memorable. The atmosphere was romantic, stunning, and relaxing. Our 5 course meal was paired with wines that made the tastes conversational. What a brilliant experience, but be prepared to spend some time and money while visiting this memorable restaurant.

"The German Settlement"
Lovettsville is Loudoun's northernmost town, situated close to the Potomac River. It was founded in 1733 by German farm families who migrated south from Pennsylvania. They worked hard and enjoyed simple, but fairly prosperous lifestyles.
The small Lovettsville Historical Society Museum provides and interesting glimpse back in time to life in a rural settlement. It offers an amazing collection of vintage photographs, signs, tools, and home and farm items. Additionally, documents on geneaology, local homes, businesses, and organizations are displayed - all to preserve and protect the town's heritage.
There is a small hub of retail activity in Lovettsville. Visitors will find thrifty fashions, vintage treasures, and shabby chic decor at at Thrifty Sisters Treasures, and gourmet foods, home and garden accents, wedding accessories, baby gifts, and much more at Total Basket Cases.
Unique dining opportunities in Lovettsville include Talk of the Town, which is situtated in a restored home, and The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm which offers an opportunity to enjoy farm-to-table cuisine and spectacular views of the Potomac River and beyond from a glass-walled conservatory.
Lovettsville enthusiastically recognizes its heritage with the annual Oktoberfest festivities, where the entire town and visitors enjoy German food and beverages, music, dance, craft sales, and a Volksmarch. An authentic German meal launches the event the evening before. Lovettsville is also known for its spectacular July 3rd celebration. (Yes, it is the third. The town is always the first in the county to celebrate July 4th!)
