Bluemont Vineyard

I have been a fan of Bluemont Vineyards since they opened. I took my mom there for the first time this weekend. We were celebrating her birthday with a tour of some Loudoun wineries she had never visited. She loved all three wineries but this was her favorite. It's easy to love Bluemont Vineyards - the view is amazing, the owners & atmosphere are relaxed and very welcoming, and the wines are good to boot! I'm eagerly anticipating the release of this year's Peach and Rose wines, my two favorites from Bluemont. Oh, and I definitely recommmend making it the final stop of any wine tour. Once you're settled on their deck, you really don't want to leave!

What a fantastic experience! The winery is lovely, the wine is wonderful & the view is amazing! Family friendly atmosphere with great personalities pouring your samples. Love the PIG which is their Norton wine. If you have a chance to sample a bit of the fruit wines you are in for a pleasant surprise. Don't be scared, they are wonderul with just a hint of fruit. The gift shop "Lore" is totally different than your typical winery gift shop. Will be back for sure!

Bluemont is Loudoun's westernmost village, and offers quaint, country charm. Founded in the early 1800s and originally called Snickersville, Bluemont grew slowly through the 19th century. During the Civil War, a clash between Confederate guerilla leader John S. Mosby and Federal troops took place near the village.
On the 4th of July in 1900 railroad service from the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad was extended to the village, which was promoted as a cool mountain resort retreat to Washingtonians looking to escape the capital's summer heat.
Today, visitors to the annual Bluemont Fair enjoy old-fashioned fun including traditional and country music, skilled artisans demonstrating their crafts, antiques, local artists, and fresh and dried flowers, farm produce, down home cooking, and pie-baking and pickling contests. Kids will enjoy the Children's Fair and the train caboose.
Bluemont is also home to Great Country Farms, an exceptional farm that welcomes children and families from early spring to late October and offers a wide variety of pick-your-own fruits and vegetables, and special weekend events including a month-long Pumpkin Harvest in the fall that features racing pigs! Great Country also features an extensive petting farm with goats that climb up into a treehouse.
