Guidelines
When writing your review, please follow closely these guidelines:
- Reviews must be written in English.
- Focus on the product or service and your individual experience using the product or service.
- Provide details regarding what you liked or disliked about the product or service.
All submitted reviews are subject to the terms set forth in our Terms of Use. We reserve the right not to post your review if it contains any of the following types of content:
- Full names, email addresses, URLs, phone numbers, physical addresses, or other forms of contact information.
- Obscenities, profanity, discriminatory language, or other language not suitable for a public forum.
- Advertisements, “spam” content, or references to other products, offers, or websites.
- Critical or spiteful comments about other reviews posted on VisitLoudoun.org or their authors.
All submitted reviews are the licensed property of the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association.
Reviews are typically posted within four business days of receipt, and may be removed at any time for any reason at the sole discretion of the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association.
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your conduct associated with the User Reviews service offered by the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association on VisitLoudoun.org. To the extent of any conflict between Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association’s Privacy Policy and these Terms of Use, these Terms of Use shall control with respect to the User Reviews service.
By submitting any content to the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the sole author and owner of the intellectual property rights thereto;
- All “moral rights” that you may have in such content have been voluntarily waived by you;
- All content that you post is accurate;
- You are at least 13 year old; and
- The content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity.
You further agree and warrant that you shall not submit, post, upload, or otherwise transmit any content that:
- Is known by you to be false, inaccurate, or misleading;
- Is intended to or does inflate listing ratings for the purposes of falsely representing the quality of any listing on the site;
- Infringes or otherwise violates the rights of any third party, including, without limitation, privacy rights and proprietary rights;
- Is unlawful, defamatory, libelous, abusive, tortuous, harassing, threatening, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise indecent or that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law;
- Contains viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer;
- Is of poor quality or that is deemed inappropriate as determined by the sole discretion of the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association editors;
- Advertises or offers to sell any goods or services for any commercial purpose, with the exception of members termed experts or travel providers under a specific agreement related to such;
- Conducts, displays, or forwards surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, "spam," or chain letters;
- Impersonates, or otherwise misrepresents your affiliation with, any other person or entity;
- Falsifies or deletes any attributions, legends, or other proprietary designations of the origin or source of software or other website content appearing on the website or contained in a file that is uploaded;
- Harms or is intended to harm minors;
- Stalks or harasses another individual;
- Collects or stores personal data about other members;
- Violates any applicable local, state, federal, or international law or regulation; or
- Would constitute, encourage, or provide instructions for a criminal offense or a violation of the rights of any person or entity.
You agree that you will not use any robot, spider, or other automated device, or a program, algorithm, or methodology having similar processes or functionality, or any manual process to monitor or copy any of the web pages, data, or content from VisitLoudoun.org.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association (and its officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, joint ventures, employees, and third-party providers) harmless from all claims, demands, and damages (actual or consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of a breach of your representations and warranties set for above, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
For any content that you submit, you grant the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable right and license to use, copy, modify, delete in its entirety, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, and/or sell, and/or distribute such content and/or incorporate such content into any form, medium, or technology throughout the world without compensation to you.
All content that you submit may be used at the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association’s sole discretion. The Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association reserves the right to change, condense, or delete any content on the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association’s website that the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association deems, in its sole discretion, to violate the content guidelines or any other provision of these Terms of Use. The Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association does not guarantee that you will have any recourse through the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association to edit or delete any content you have submitted. Ratings and written comments are generally posted within four business days of receipt. However, the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association reserves the right to remove or to refuse to post any submission for any reason. You acknowledge that you, not the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association, are responsible for the contents of your submission. None of the content that you submit shall be subject to any obligation of confidence on the part of the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association, its agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, or third party service providers and their respective directors, officers, and employees.
By submitting your email address in conjunction with your rating and review, you agree that the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association and its third party service providers may use your email address to contact you about the status of your review and for other administrative purposes.
