Media Familiarization Tours

The LCVA hosts group and individual FAM (familiarization) tours or media trips to give journalists the first-hand experience to make their stories stand out. The Industry & Media Relations Department facilitates media visits with support that ranges from story ideas, information, and recommendations, to coordinating hour-by-hour itineraries of the Loudoun County experience. 

Individual media FAMs allow for a customized itinerary based on a journalist’s interests and assignments and offers flexible scheduling options, while group media FAMS are scheduled to accommodate a number of journalists and usually feature a more generalized itinerary that may focus on key themes.

If you are interested in an individual FAM tour and would like the LCVA's assistance in putting togeter an itinerary, please email Chris Geno with your specific request, including dates of arrival and departure, and if possible, alternate dates.  Include an assignment letter and/or copies of your most recently published articles or photographs. Please include details of the demographics of each article, circulation, and scheduled dates for the assigned publication or those you will be pitching. Also indicate if you require accommodations, admission to attractions, and/or an itinerary, and if your travel budget includes costs for all or any of the services to be arranged by the LCVA.
