Film & Video

The LCVA works with the Virginia Film Office and the film industry to respond to inquiries about using Loudoun as a backdrop for movies, commercials, photo shoots, and other film and video projects. The LCVA assists location scouts with finding sites and options for shooting as well as serving as their local liaison to the community for contacts with business owners, home owners, permit requirements, and other services they may need. When Loudoun County and its jurisdictions are selected for a film and video project, the LCVA assists with accommodations and catering needs by generating a sales lead from our direct sales staff.

Film and video projects are beneficial to the community from the economic impact by the spending by the cast and crew, hiring of catering companies and restaurants for meals, and by location fees paid to businesses and home owners. There are additional benefits that are harder to measure such as the image positioning and awareness of locations used in a photo shoot for catalogs that feature a Loudoun heritage site and include information about the location in the catalog.
