The LCVA is committed to providing professional services to:
- Visitors — to attract all types of visitors and increase the duration of their stay, their spending, their overall experience, and impacting their intent to return
- The Tourism Industry — many of which are small businesses
- The Community — through tax revenues and quality of life
- Policy Makers — by offering the tourism industry perspective and communicating the industry’s needs
The LCVA is marketing and sales oriented. The services provided by the LCVA are designed and implemented to connect visitors with cash registers and maximize the economic impact from visitor spending. These services are provided to make purchasing a tourism experience in Loudoun County and its jurisdictions easier.
Visitors
The LCVA promotes Loudoun County and its jurisdictions to attract visitors from points of origin around the globe. Visitors travel here for different purposes such as business, leisure, to attend meetings, events, social gatherings, and to visit friends and relatives. Here is a very brief summary of the sales oriented services the LCVA provides:
The direct sales program generates meetings, events, and tour groups through direct sales and assisting meeting and event planners and tour group leaders in finding the right location for their needs. These services are what the LCVA offers the decision maker.
LCVA promotional materials are also a service for visitors. The marketing and sales program attracts visitors by promoting the “attractors” in the destination – the events and attractions that motivate visitors to travel. The LCVA provides visitors the information they need to learn more about visiting Loudoun County and to help them plan their trip. These resource tools are provided through the LCVA website, Visitors Center, and promotional newsletters.
The LCVA serves business travelers staying in overnight accommodations by providing information and resources to the lodging properties to assist guests in finding entertainment, dining, and local event information to fill their leisure time.
Tourism Industry
The LCVA provides sales opportunities for the tourism industry and services that enable them to connect directly to visitors through LCVA promotions; the use of a market segment approach enables the tourism industry to participate in the programming that best fits their needs. The LCVA coordinates product development resources and project management for package and themed promotional campaigns for the tourism industry. The LCVA also coordinates programming for the tourism industry to stay abreast of industry trends, market research, local issues, and regional opportunities.
The Community
The LCVA enhances the quality of life for residents of Loudoun County and its towns by attracting visitors who spend their time and money here but do not require schools and other public services. The benefits of tourism include local tax relief as well as quality of life. Without visitors our local residents could not sustain the variety of festivals and events that support our local charities and provide leisure opportunities for our residents; visitors support these events through their attendance and spending that in turn support our community.
Policy Makers
The LCVA serves as the programmatic arm for tourism in Loudoun County and offers staff and industry expertise.
