Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association is responsible for the programmatic and fiscal integrity of the corporation. They elect, evaluate, and counsel the Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer; provide planning and guidance for the work of the organization; approve its policies; assist in securing the financial resources required to sustain and increase tourism programs; and share responsibility for effective recruiting and retention programs. LCVA dues paying members elect board members during their annual meeting each year after a thorough nominating process has been completed. Board members are elected to three year terms so that approximately one-third of the board members join the board of directors at any given time.
LCVA Board Members are recruited through a deliberate process to develop strong leadership for policy guidance for the LCVA. The board members represent large and small tourism related businesses from all sectors of the tourism industry as well as marketing and other professional fields. Tourism is a countywide program and the board members are also selected with consideration of the different geographies within Loudoun and its towns and diversity. Although the LCVA does not have designated seats, an effort is made to have approximately one third of the board members from the lodging sector (including bed and breakfasts, inns, hotels, and resorts), one third from the tourism industry (heritage sites, recreation, wineries, attractions, restaurants, retailers, etc.), and one third from the business community.
The board meets at 3:30pm on the 4th Wednesday of every month at varying locations throughout the county. All board meetings are open to the public. For a calendar of upcoming meetings, click here.
