America's Cup of Polo

The first ever America’s Cup of Polo will take place at Historic Morven Park in Leesburg in Loudoun County on Saturday, May 12, 2007.  The event will feature a polo match between polo teams from the United States and the United Kingdom. It will commemorate America’s 400th Anniversary, Loudoun County’s 250th Anniversary, and Leesburg’s  250th, and will be a charity event benefiting the Journey for t he Cure Foundation. The match will be played on the new state-of-the-art polo field at Historic Morven Park, which has been specially built for this event. 

Entertainment
Music performed by a fife and drum corps will herald the beginning of the international polo match. Live entertainment, including the singing of the U.S. National Anthem and God Save the Queen, will be provided by the legendary rock group Journey and an English band, The Webb Sisters. In the evening, guests will enjoy “Dancing Under the Stars” followed by a fireworks display which will end a splendid day with a decisive bang.

Food and Drink
The event will feature a vast array of catered cuisine, wine, and libations. All food and beverages will be from or produced in the state of Virginia. Market Salamander/Salamander Hospitality is the official caterer for the event.

Tickets
Tickets may be purchased at www.americascupofpolo.com and at the LCVA Visitors Center on Catoctin Circle in Leesburg.  Tickets are $75 for adults; $25 for students aged 13-20; children 12 and under are FREE. Journey concert and fireworks display tickets (available at the gate beginning at 5:30pm on the day of the event) are $50 per person.
