Traveling through Loudoun County, Virginia on May 12th? The America’s Cup of Polo event will be held on that Saturday at Historic Morven Park off Route 15, just north of Leesburg. Traffic may be significant. Avoid delays and make your trip through Loudoun County more pleasant by taking the below alternate route for Route 15. Please note that this route has sharp turns and is not suitable for large trucks.

DIRECTIONS

From the North:

• Travel south from Maryland on Route 15 over the Point of Rocks bridge into Loudoun County.
• Travel 4 miles to the Village of Lucketts and turn RIGHT at the traffic light onto Stumptown Road (Route 662).
• Travel 3.7 miles to the stop sign and turn LEFT onto Loyalty Road (Route 665).
• Travel 1.7 miles to the Village of Waterford. Veer LEFT onto “Butchers Row,” and veer LEFT onto High Street.
• Continue on High Street through Waterford. Outside Waterford, High Street becomes Clarkes Gap Road.
• Travel 2 miles to the traffic light at Charles Town Pike (Route 9) and turn LEFT.
• Travel 0.7 miles (stay in left lane) and turn LEFT onto Route 7 east toward Leesburg.
• For Route 15 south, travel 3.6 miles and turn RIGHT at the exit for Route 15 south toward Warrenton.
• For points east including Washington, D.C., simply continue on Route 7 east.

From the South:

• Travel north on Route 15 to Leesburg and turn LEFT onto Route 7 west toward Winchester.
• Travel 3.8 miles and take the RIGHT exit for Charles Town Pike (Route 9 toward Hillsboro and Charles Town). Veer RIGHT at end of exit ramp onto Route 9.
• Travel 0.5 miles to traffic light. Turn RIGHT onto Clarkes Gap Road toward Waterford.
• Travel 2.5 miles to the Village of Waterford.  Proceed through Waterford. Veer right onto “Butchers Row,” which becomes Loyalty Road as your leave Waterford.
• Travel 1.7 miles on Loyalty Road and turn RIGHT onto Stumptown Road (Route 662).
• Travel 3.7 miles to Lucketts. Turn LEFT at the traffic light onto Route 15 north (James Monroe Highway).
• Continue on Route 15 north into Maryland.
