Kid Fun (for all ages) in Loudoun
Start your day at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, where your older children and grandchildren can learn about the 250 years of agricultural history in Loudoun through exhibits that tell the stories of the families that lived here. Younger children will enjoy the Children's Farm, an indoor interactive play area where they can be a farmer for a day. They’ll milk Milkie the Cow, collect eggs from the play chickens, and “ride” the Kentucky Derby on Loudoun's most famous horse, Genuine Risk. Then they can put on a puppet show for you, “ring up” your order in the original 100-year-old Waxpool General Store, and play in a 100-year-old hands-on kitchen.
Next, visit Dulles Town Center, Loudoun’s regional mall, where younger children will enjoy an indoor train ride, the jetBlue kids play area, and the merry-go-round in the food court. Older kids will appreciate it because it is packed with the stores that they love, so plan ahead to spoil them! Eat lunch in the food court which has plenty of options to please everyone’s cravings.
Then head to the nearby Dulles Golf Center & Sports Park or Sportrock Climbing Center. Dulles Golf offers plenty of fun for all age groups. Whether it’s a game of miniature golf, swinging practice in the batting cages, or driving balls at the driving range, this sports complex is sure to please the whole family. And Sportrock offers 10,000 square feet of indoor rock climbing on walls up to 40 feet!
End the day at Sweetwater Tavern, where you will find the yummiest chicken fingers around, or Mimi’s Café that offers an extensive menu and “dirt cups” for the kids (think chocolate pudding, Oreo cookie crumbs, and a gummy worm)!
