Harpers Ferry National Historic Park
Located where the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers meet in the states of West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland, this town witnessed many historical events including the first successful American railroad, John Brown's attack on slavery, and the largest surrender of Federal troops during the Civil War. Today, visitors visit museums and exhibits, take guided tours, and enjoy the outdoors by cycling, hiking, fishing, canoeing, rafting, and rock climbing.
